The Modern Languages Learning Center provides resources
to the students and faculty of the language programs at Eastern. It functions as a computer lab,
a multimedia language classroom
and a computer skills classroom. The hours for class use are posted just inside the entrance to the Learning Center. There are several stations available for individual
students to use while classes are conducted in the lab. These
stations are clearly marked for individual use.
In addition, the Learning Center participates in community
outreach, offering guided visits from area high schools and
testing facilities for advanced placement of high school students.
We are a test facility for the TOEIC English proficiency test
for ESL students. For information regarding visits, please contact
Patrick Foster.
We have an extensive library of language and culture
materials available for check-out and use in the lab. We ask for
a student ID in exchange for materials checked out. Lists of
available materials can be seen by using the links in the left
margin.
We provide cassette tape duplication of certain
language materials to the students and faculty in Modern
Languages. These services are offered within the copyright
guidelines of the publishers, allowing students to use these
materials away from the lab. We also provide VHS format
conversions for those language materials recorded on different VHS
formats.
